In November 2011,
Jula, a Swedish DIY chain, intends to enter the Polish market and open two supermarkets, located in Park Handlowy Janki and Park Handlowy Targowek, retail parks situated in Warsaw. In spring 2012, the company plans to open its third establishment in Park Handlowy Bielany, a centre located in Wroclaw.
At present, the retailer operates 32 stores in Sweden and ten in Norway. The chain offers a wide assortment of DIY products, office and sport equipment, workwear, smaller household appliances and electronic goods.
The expansion on the Polish market is a result of an agreement signed with
IKEA Centre Group Poland, a company specialising in the development and management of shopping centres. Jula is interested in a location with an area of around 3,000 m
2. The three first locations in Poland are to be taken over from
Electro World, an electronics chain.
