2012-01-18
Rockstar Energy Drink, produced by US company
Rockstar, has entered the Polish market.
PepsiCo, which has a distribution agreement with Rockstar on a number of markets, including Poland, recently made it available in Zabka convenience stores, operated by
Zabka Polska.
Anna Tutak-Kordyl, general director of beverages at PepsiCo General Bottlers Poland, cited by the portalspozywczy.pl portal, confirmed that Rockstar recently contacted PepsiCo in Poland regarding sales of the energy drink in Zabka stores, and has been made available there. However, PepsiCo is not aware of plans to widen distribution on the Polish market.
The energy drink is available in two versions in Zabka stores: Classic and Punched (with guava), both sold at a retail price of PLN 3.49 (€0.80). A Polish fan page for the beverage has also been launched on Facebook.
Meanwhile, according to unofficial information obtained by the portal in November 2011, Monster Energy Drink, produced by
Monster Beverage Company (recently changed name from Hansen Natural), will be available on the Polish market in Q1 2012. It is distributed on many markets by
Coca-Cola, but the latter stated that it will not be the distributor in Poland. Monster’s promotion in the country, among others on Facebook, has been ongoing.
