Wojas carries on with development

The
footwear producer and retailer Wojas is standing by its investment plans and financial prognosis for this year despite the financial crisis. It intends to have 73 stores at the end of this year and 120 outlets by the end of 2010. It intends to open 25 stores in 2009, and this will cost PLN 5m.
The company is also working on the introduction of a new collection – it plans to launch a second network which will offer upmarket shoes bearing the Wojas logo. The first trial store is to open at the beginning of 2009.
Wojas is also expanding on the foreign markets – it has already opened one store in Slovakia and plans to launch another two in 2009. The company is also considering the acquisition of a Czech firm – it intends to buy 16 stores belonging to this firm in order to transform them into its branded stores.
The financial forecast for this year envisages the generation of sales revenues of PLN 94m and a net profit of PLN 6.3m.
