More retail space in Poland

In 2010, 400,000 m² of retail space will be developed on the
Polish market, according to a recent report by Cushman & Wakefield. Lodz will boast the most substantial amount of new retail area: 70,000 m², and Warsaw will have 52,600 m². By the end of 2011, there will be another 350,000 m² of modern retail space.
The main projects planned for 2010 include a new shopping centre in Wilanow, which is to be developed by
Amnon Shiboleth, the company which manages the Blue City mall in Warsaw. In addition,
Plaza Centers, one of the largest commercial developers in
Central and Eastern Europe, intends to invest around PLN 1bn (€244m) in new developments in Poland. At present, the latter company is building shopping malls in Kielce, Torun, Zgorzelec and Suwalki, and another centre is planned for Lodz. In Q1 2011, Galeria Leszno shopping gallery is to open in Leszno, and Solaria Center, developed by the
IGI group, will be launched in Q2 2012 in Torun.
