Bytom, the prominent menswear producer,is planning to open four new stores by the end of 2010. In addition, the producer is developing its made-to-measure suit service, which is gradually becoming more popular in Poland. It has also launched a new project under the Bytom Smart name, offering suits which can be cleaned in a washing machine, which are expected to boost the export sales results.
Therefore, the company expects its results to improve in 2010, according to Puls Biznesu. In 2009, the group went through a restructuring process: it made 400 people, 30% of the workforce, redundant, and closed its production facility in Wroclaw. Bytom intends to improve its profitability by means of cost reductions, even if the sales do not improve in 2010.
At present, the chain of Bytom stores (including Intermoda units) comprises 80 shops.
