HoReCa sector cut spending on IT services in 2009
2010-05-03
Almost 40% of the small and medium-sized companies from the
HoReCa sector in Poland do not use the IT services provided by external contractors, according to a PMR survey. One third of the examined companies developed or implemented new applications and software in the recent year. Over the same period, about 30% of the surveyed companies benefited from outsourcing IT services.
Due to the crisis, the retail sector confined IT spending more than most others. This translates also to projects financed from EU funds. By way of example, in 2009 small and medium-sized companies in the
HoReCa sector that benefited from the UE funds designed for IT projects were relatively rare, when compared to the other sectors of the economy. Only 2% of surveyed companies admitted using UE funds in 2009. However, one in eight companies plan to use EU funds for IT projects in the current year.
