The financial situation of Polish households: today and tomorrow

In June 2010 the
indicator of the financial state of households (the OGD) in Poland increased by 1.5 points month on month to -3.5, after a significant drop in May.
According to Pentor, in June 2010, 25% of respondents, four percentage points less than the figure recorded in May, found their
current financial situations worse than those of a year before. In comparison with the previous month there had been a 2 p.p. increase in the percentage of those who stated that their financial situations had changed for the better year on year, to 14%.
With regard to the expectations of Poles
for next year, in June 2010 the proportion of those expecting their situations to take a turn for the worse was 15%, one percentage point more than in May. There was also a slight decline, from 21% to 19%, in the proportion of those who expect an improvement.
Methodology note:
The most recent Pentor public opinion survey on the economy was carried out between 18 and 21 June on a random representative sample of 1,000 Poles.
