Zelmer, the well-known producer of household appliances, has received permission to build a factory in the Euro-Park Mielec economic zone. The construction work is due to begin in September 2010, and production will start in the second half of 2011. Zelmer claims to have to invested PLN 64m (€16m) in the zone.
As a result, the producer plans to cut the production cost per item by 5%. By the end of 2012, Zelmer intends to take on 100 new employees and has also stated that it will keep its 700-strong staff until the end of 2015.
