New player enters the biscuit market in Poland
2010-08-10
The French Poult group, which produces biscuits, is planning to expand on the
Polish market. In 2010, the company acquired Lider SKG, a Polish producer of biscuits. The latter, which owns three plants and over a dozen production lines, has the most substantial biscuit production capacity in Poland.
As a result of the acquisition, the French group hopes to lead the field on the Polish biscuit market. It will invest several million euro per year in the development of production, new packages and products.
The company plans to expand mainly in the private label arena. The group’s management estimates that biscuits under private label names will account for 40% of the Polish market within five years.
