Tesco will commence construction of one of its supermarkets in Swidnica. The store will have around 590 m² of total area and 418 m² of retail space as well as a parking lot for 30 cars.
A new shopping centre is to emerge in Lublin on Jana Pawla II Street on a 15 ha plot. The construction of the complex is to commence in mid-2011 and it will last around two years. The mall will house a Real supermarket, a DIY store as well as a multi-screen cinema. An investor of the project is Interbud.
PSB-Mrowka a chain offering DIY products, opened its 47th store in Poland. The establishment is located in Wloszczowa and its opening took place on 31 July. The store takes up 920 m² and it offers over 12 thousand products.
Eden the grocery chain, plans to increase a number of its establishments by around 60 to 720 stores by the end of 2010. The company unites the stores, operating in the Mazowieckie, Podlaskie, Swietokrzyskie, Lubelskie and Warminsko-Mazurskie voivodships.
Polomarket opened on 15 August its 300th establishment in Poland. The store is located in Swiebodzice. At present, the chain operates in 14 voivodships. In H1 2010, the group posted an increase of around 10% in sales to around PLN 1.4bn (€350m).
Netto, the Danish discount chain, intends to set up around 15 new establishments by the end of 2010 in Poland to have between 212 and 215 supermarkets. The 200th store is scheduled to be opened in mid-September in Szczecin. On 26 August, another Netto store will appear in Kluczbork.
Waspol, the distributor of alcoholic beverages, reported a 3% decline in sales revenues and 41% decline in net profit in the first half of 2010. Sales revenues totalled to PLN 112.5m (€28m), while net profit was PLN 1m (€250,000). Thanks to warm weather, the group expects to improve its results in Q3 2010.
Korona Kielce shopping gallery in Kielce is leased by 50%. Among the new brands that have recently joined the list of tenants are Adidas, Nike, Reebok and Puma. The opening of the centre is scheduled for Q1 2012. In total, the complex will house 170 stores and service points that will occupy 38,300 m².
Polonia Property Fund, the owner of the Fashion House Outlet Centre in Piaseczno, signed an agreement with R&D Poland on a lease of rental space in the latter complex. The centre’s new tenants are Lilla Store, which will have 400 m², Trussardi Jeans (175 m²) and Pinko (73 m²).
NRC company will construct a shopping gallery under the Galeria Zabrze name in the centre of Zabrze. In addition, the complex will have office space and a multi-storey parking lot. The value of the investment is estimated at PLN 30m (€7.5m). The opening of the complex is scheduled for 2011/2012.
Due to the resignation of Grzegorz Zabilski from the position of deputy chairman in Eko Holding retail group, the company has appointed a new member of the management board, Urszula Mroz, who will be responsible for the sales department. Mrs. Mroz has been working in the company since October 2009.
Vistula Group will issue 500 series A bonds for a value of PLN 50m (€12.5m). The funds will be spent for debt restructuring as well as increasing the company’s working capital.
Elpro, the investment firm belonging to Emperia Holding, retail group, has commenced construction of a shopping gallery in Sokolow Podlaski. The centre will house Stokrokta supermarket as well as a number of other retailers and service points.
