PKM Duda improving results and planning acquisitions
2010-08-29
PKM Duda, a meat producer, plans to focus on restructuring in 2010. Thanks to the implementation of the saving programme, the company has already managed to save PLN 5.4m (€1.3m) from the PLN 8m (€2m) planned for 2010. In H1 2010, company's sales revenues totaled to PLN 672m (€168.3m) in contrast to PLN 832m (€166.6m) of the year before. The group, however, posted a net profit of PLN 17.5m (€4.4m) after the first six months of 2010 versus PLN 75.4m (€21m) net loss in the analogous period of the previous year.
Still, PKM Duda has not withdrawn from acquisitions. The producer is negotiating with over a dozen companies from the production and distributing segments and the first preliminary agreement on a takeover could be finalised in the fourth quarter of 2010. Until 2012, PKM Duda plans to spend in total PLN 100m (€25m) for
acquisitions.
