BBI Development NFI fund has signed a joint investment agreement with Spolem Srodmiescie cooperative on construction of an office and retail building in Warsaw on Marszalkowska street. The complex will emerge on the site of the former Sezam department store and it will have around 10,000 m².
Goplana MGC Inwest, an investment firm controlled by Dariusz Milek, intends to commence construction of a shopping gallery under the Goplana name in Leszno in the first half of 2011. At present, the investor is undertaking a spatial development plan for the area where the complex is planned to be constructed.
Tchibo will launch one of its stores and cafes in Arkadia shopping centre in Warsaw. It will be the company’s ninth establishment in Warsaw and the 40th in Poland. The chain entered the Polish market in 2005.
Paula, a producer of healthy snacks, will enter the British and German markets. At present, the company sells its products under the Crispy Natural brand to such countries as the Czech Republic, Denmark and Belgium. In addition, the company plans to introduce its products to Italy, Spain and Portugal.
On 1 July 2010 Mieczyslaw Dabrowski became the new chairman of PSS Spolem cooperative in Bialystok. To date, Mr. Dabrowski is the first deputy chairman of the management board and deputy chairman of marketing and commerce. The former chairman of PSS Spolem, Krystyna Sosinska, retired on 30 June 2010.
Intermarche opened its supermarket in Slupca, in the Wielkopolskie voivodship. The store takes up 1,000 m² retail space and it is the company’s 149th establishment in Poland.
On 26 August, Tesco re-opened its store in Czestochowa. The establishment operates in a new format under the Tesco Extra name. The store offers additional services such as a pharmacy, photography service and optician. The hypermarket has 12,000 m² and a parking lot for 1,200 cars.
The Stokrotka chain opened its supermarket in Mielec. The chain belongs to the Emperia Holding group.
On 27 August MediaExpert, a store offering electronic appliances, opened in Park Handlowy Chorzow retail park. The establishment has around 2,000 m² of retail space. It belongs to Domex, which manages 58 Media Expert outlets. In total, the chain the under MediaExpert name has around 200 establishments in Poland.
