Tesco opens first Tesco Extra hypermarket in Poland

Tesco opened its first in Poland hypermarket under Tesco Extra name, located in Czestochowa. The establishment has 12,000 m² area and a parking lot for 1,200 cars. The Tesco Extra is a new format of stores that offer additional services such as pharmacy or photography services. The stores in a new concept also have new layout and design.
The retailer plans to set up new Tesco Extra hypermarkets as well as rebrand some of the existing stores. The company's management has not revealed how many new concept establishments will eventually operate in Poland.
