Alma Market, operator ofthe Alma and Krakowski Kredens chains, intends to set up five new establishments by the end of 2010. The two delicatessen stores under the Alma brand name will emerge at the beginning of September in Krakow and in 2010/2011 in Warsaw. Moreover, the group will continue launching Alma online stores in the largest cities in Poland.
In turn, the Krakowski Kredens chain, offering traditional Polish foodstuffs, will be expanded by three new points of sale by the end of 2010. At present, the latter network consists of around 30 establishments.
In H1 2010, Alma Market posted PLN 581m (€145m) of sales revenues while in the analogous period of the previous year the figure was PLN 478m (€119m), which reflects an increase of 17% year on year. After the first six months of 2010, the company’s net loss totaled to PLN 8.7m (€2.1m), while in H1 2009 net loss was PLN 18.1m (€4.5m).
