After the first six months of 2010, Amica, the largest Polish producer of white goods, reported a 4.5% year-on-year increase in sales revenues to PLN 583.8m (€145.9m), whereas its net profit came to PLN 1.4m (€350,000) in contrast to a PLN 14m (€3.5m) net loss in H1 2009.
The improvement in the results reflects sales generated abroad. In H1 2010 in Germany and Russia, Amica sold 36% and 63.5% more goods respectively, in comparison with the corresponding period of last year. In total, the company’s exports increased by 15% to €61.3m
The company also succeeded in reducing its indebtedness through the sale of two plants to Samsung. Its long term liabilities were reduced from PLN 143.9m (€36m) at the end of June 2009 to PLN 44.5m (€11m) at the end of the equivalent month of 2010.
