Kofola, a producer of non-alcoholic beverages which owns Hoop Polska, is planning to carry out a number of acquisitions in Poland, according to a report in Parkiet. In addition, the company is also interested in taking over firms operating in Slovakia, Russia and the Czech Republic.
In Poland, the producer also plans to invest in organic growth. Kofola’s strategic area of the market is that of cola beverages, in which it is in third position, behind Coca-Cola and PepsiCo. In H1 2010, Hoop Cola reported more substantial growth than that of the overall market.
Nevertheless, because of the cold weather there was a reduction in Kofola’s total revenues, from PLN 744.8m (€186.5m) in H1 2009 to PLN 564.7m (€141.5m) in H1 2010. Its net profit, however, increased by PLN 1.3m (€325,600) year on year to PLN 10m (€2.5m) in H1 2010. An improvement in sales revenues is expected in H2 2010.
