Mispol, a producer of ready meals and pet food, is planning to continue focusing on production in the latter area, according to Parkiet. In 2011, the company will commence the construction of a new factory in the Czech Republic which will increase pet food capacity by 40%. The plant will be completed in Q1 2012, and the project is thought to be worth PLN 16m (€4m). Furthermore, Mispol has changed the profile of its factory in Bialystok which also manufactures pet food at present.
Mispol improved its profitability in H1 2010. Its net profit came to PLN 3.6m (€900,000), whereas in H1 2009 the company made a net loss of PLN 6m (€1.5m). It expects its profitability to increase as a result of its savings programme and an increase in sales of pet food, which is the most profitable product area of Mispol and is responsible for 47% of the company’s sales revenues.
